The Energy Department announced more than $10 million to five projects in California, Maryland, Texas, and Washington that will develop new technologies to convert biomass into advanced biofuels and bioproducts.
The Energy Department has invested $9 million in building envelope technologies in six states: California, Connecticut, Idaho, Maryland, Missouri, and Tennessee.
The Production Tax Credit and the investment tax credits will be extended through the end of the year, boosting the wind, biofuel, and other renewable energy industries.
The Energy Department announced $12 million in new funding for the Rooftop Solar Challenge II which will support projects that make solar energy businesses more efficient.
The Energy Department is partnering with the Arizona Geological Survey and other partners to create the National Geothermal Data System, an open source database to help industry with critical development information.
