Obama Administration Invests $300 Million in a Green Federal Fleet
The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has purchased more than 17,000 fuel-efficient vehicles, including hybrids and alternative-fuel vehicles, to help upgrade the efficiency of the federal fleet. The latest purchase includes 35 hybrid electric buses and five buses that run on natural gas.
EPA Aims to Limit Greenhouse Gas Regulations to Large Facilities
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from vehicles under the Clean Air Act, and that could trigger new regulations for a large number of greenhouse gas emitters. A proposed rule would limit those regulations to the largest emitters.

EIA Forecasts Lower Heating Bills this Winter
DOE's Energy Information Administration (EIA) is projecting an 8% decrease in heating bills for the average U.S. household this winter, with the biggest gains for homes heated with natural gas or propane. The EIA also expects energy-related carbon dioxide emissions to fall by 5.9% in 2009.
