Ford Announces Pricing for Escape Hybrid
The new Ford Escape Hybrid will cost about $3,300 more than a comparably equipped V6 model, announced Ford Motor Company on June 14th. But Ford also notes that the hybrid will qualify for a "Clean Fuel Vehicles" federal tax deduction of $1,500 if purchased this year.
California Proposes Cuts in Vehicle Greenhouse Gas Emissions
The California Air Resources Board released a draft staff report on June 14th that proposes to cut greenhouse gas emissions from new cars and light trucks by nearly 30 percent by 2014. The report claims the proposed technologies will pay for themselves in reduced operating costs.
New Standards Boost Promise for Hydrogen Fueling Stations
New fire code standards from the International Code Council will allow greater deployment of hydrogen fueling stations, according to the National Hydrogen Association. The California Fuel Cell Partnership is also working to ensure that fuel-dispensing nozzles meet industry standards.
