Annual Identified Savings

2,145 plants have reported the following:

  • Energy costs: $1.3 billion
  • Natural gas: 119 trillion Btu
  • Source energy: 180 trillion Btu
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2): 11.2 million metric tons

Annual Implemented Savings

1,575 plants have reported the following:

  • Energy costs: $218 million
  • Natural gas: 16 trillion Btu
  • Source energy: 35 trillion Btu
  • Carbon dioxide (CO2): 2.3 million metric tons

*Annual savings numbers based on small, medium, and large plant assessments conducted since January 2006.
