Current work with the Energy and Sustainability Services (ESS) group includes performing Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) energy assessments and Energy Saving Now assessments for manufacturing facilities. Manage resources and efforts of the Georgia Tech team for the Texas Pilot Project of the Superior Energy Performance (SEP) Program. Assist companies with ISO 14001 implementation and provide auditing services as requested.
At Olin Corporation, duties included management of all continuous improvement efforts at the Charleston site. Responsible for the Operational Excellence suggestion process in which individuals at the site contributed over 1650 ideas, implemented over 140 projects, and saved over $3.7 million in fixed cost, variable cost, and cost avoidance. Successfully developed methods to improve the statistical process control efforts. Co-authored and provided Minitab Training for the Olin Chlor Alkali division. Authored and provided training for new engineers and operators regarding Operational Excellence and control charting.
At Pfizer, Inc. duties included monitoring processes utilizing control charts and process capability analysis. Coordinated and executed pre-campaign planning efforts. Investigated atypical batches and implemented preventative actions. Provided review, start-up coverage, and training for process and capital changes.
At Merck & Co., Inc., provided technical support for capital projects. Participated in design review of large capital projects and developed small project scopes. Participated in process hazard analysis and safety walk-arounds. Prepared start-up documentation for the cleaning, qualification, operation, and process validation of new equipment and modifications. Performed qualification and start up demonstration of new equipment and processes. Trained engineers, supervisors, and operators. Provided technical support to manufacturing areas. Implemented process changes and provided start-up coverage.
