Currently providing technical assistance to area manufacturers at Georgia Tech Business and Industry Services in Gainesville, GA. Georgia Tech provides technical and managerial assistance to Georgia businesses to aid in productivity and cost reduction. Previously responsible for purchasing, inventory control, environmental compliance, and facilities engineering. Managed providers of energy, insurance, professional, and legal services. Responsible for production scheduling, inventory control, and quality control. Extensive international trading experience. Responsible for product design, agency approvals, product liability control, and manufacturing specifications. Industries involved hot and cold metals, plastic film, printing, appliance manufacturing, and refrigeration. Instructor for Management Systems for Energy 2000 certification courses. Completed ISO9000, and ISO 14000 assessments.
With Georgia Tech for over 12 years, he has provided various types of assistance to industrial and commercial business but primarily in the areas of energy conservation, ventilation, environmental compliance, and management systems. In energy conservation work he has completed dozens of energy audits for the Industrial Assessment Center as well as other energy conservation programs. Energy conservation opportunities have focused on many types of processes and fuels including boilers, dryers and heat exchangers. He participated in the original development team and recent revision of ANSI/MSE 2000/2005 – a management system for energy. Current project manager for SEN project - Energy Efficiency for Fiber Board Manufacture (DOE Project # FG44-05R410977)
He is an experienced auditor having participated in the energy audits listed above. He is also a professional engineer registered in both Georgia and Indiana. Mr. Hitch is a full time employee of the Georgia Institute of Technology and is available to participate in targeted Process Heating energy assessments.
