Michael Kostrzewa received his B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology in 1983, and his M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University in 199. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in Colorado.

Mr. Kostrzewa is a Research Associate in Mechanical Engineering and Assistant Director of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Industrial Assessment Center at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. As part of that program, he has worked with small- and medium-sized manufacturing plants in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region since 1989. He has led and participated in more than 400 industrial assessments and served as co-author for the accompanying assessment reports. He is experienced in optimization of pumps, fans, compressed air systems, pumps, lighting, motors, boilers and steam systems, industrial utility rate schedules, and in pollution prevention.

Mr. Kostrzewa is a DOE BestPractices Qualified Specialist for Pumping Systems (PSAT), Fan Systems (FSAT), and Compressed Air (AIRMaster+). He is also a DOE BestPractices Qualified Instructor for Pumping Systems, and a DOE Energy Expert
