Eric Bessey attended Oregon State University and holds a BS in Secondary Mathematics Education, an MS in Mechanical Engineering with a focus in thermodynamics and fluid systems, and is a licensed engineer in the State of Oregon.
In 1996, Eric started his own business, Compressed Air Specialists. Under contract with the Bonneville Power Administration and Washington State University Extension Energy Program, Eric developed AIRMaster, a nationally recognized software program used to model compressed air systems. He also conducted several compressed air audits and training seminars to promote energy efficiency and the use of AIRMaster in the industrial sector. In 2001, Eric became a certified DOE Qualified AIRMaster+ Specialist, and instructor. He is also a DOE Energy Expert.
In 2001, Eric joined SAV-AIR, LLC, where he designed and installed compressed air management control systems to improve energy efficiency and reliability. He also helped develop compressed air audit methodologies including monitoring equipment and software tools, and assisted with product development in the area of controls. In 2003, Eric joined Compression Engineering Corp. where he honed his energy auditing skills. In addition to compressed air, Eric became experienced with low pressure pneumatic conveying (dust collection) and chilled water systems. Eric acted as lead engineer for site scoping, energy analysis, and inspection of projects for PacifiCorp, the Oregon Energy Trust, the Bonneville Power Administration, Pacific Gas and Electric, and Southern California Edison. He assisted customers to participate in utility financial incentive programs, and developed business opportunities outside of Oregon including Washington, Utah, and California.
To date, Eric has more than 14 years of experience and has participated in over 100 energy audits. Now employed as Senior Engineer for Pneu-Logic Corp, Eric continues to provide training, assist in product development, and perform energy audits across the country. Eric continues to develop innovative compressed air system analysis methodologies and modeling techniques, and stays current with the latest equipment in the industry.
