1:00 p.m. Eastern Time
3 hours
Washington, District of Columbia

FEMP will be providing energy efficiency-related technical assistance in the form of expert training on the metering of steam use as mandated by EISA 2007. The training material has been developed with highlights on related Federal energy management goals, mandates, and policies.

This three-hour Steam Metering Workshop will inform and communicate cutting-edge steam measuring, monitoring, and reporting technology to the audience. The course content, delivered to a live audience and remotely to others via webinar, will cover specifying, installing, starting-up, and troubleshooting various steam metering systems. Emphasis will be on the use and application of metered data, techniques for analysis of the metered data, and how the information gathered relates to achieving better energy performance.

Using a case study, the management aspect of the course will address financing a steam meter installation project and cost implications of specific meter types as they pertain to associated peripherals, soft, and operational costs.

The subject matter, steam metering, is customized to a target audience consisting of facility, energy, and maintenance engineers and managers of select federal facilities, buildings, and infrastructure in which steam is the primary energy fuel.
