Nine approximate steps guide Federal renewable energy project planning and implementation. These steps span two phases:
Planning:
- Determine site facility and energy characteristics
- Conduct renewable energy studies
Implementation:
- Request and evaluate renewable energy project proposals
- Award contracts
- Design
- Build it!
- Undergo acceptance testing and commissioning
- Performance period: O&M and M&V
- Closeout
This course covers the implementation phase of Federal renewable energy projects – from creating and issuing a request for proposal (RFP) to project closeout. An earlier course covered the planning phase.
Site-level energy managers attending the course:
- Will be guided through the nine steps of Federal renewable energy projects.
- Will be given information on financing mechanisms available for Federal renewable energy projects.
- Will be shown technical resources available through FEMP, including information that can be used to inform agency staff members and contractors on Federal renewable energy projects.
