THG Energy Solutions

THG logo

THG Energy works with many energy industry partners to provide SaaS (Software as a Service) based data and technology solutions. Our web based platform organizes all relevant energy and utility data and presents it to authorized users at all levels across the organization. We go get the energy data, validate it, process it for payment, and provide detailed accounting and operating cost, usage and demand information. We specialize in electricity and natural gas, but also manage water, and many other metered or billed utilities and commodities.

Validation/Testing

SSAE 16, developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), is the most widely recognized authoritative guidance that provides service organizations a uniform method for disclosing independently assessed information about the design and operation of internal controls related to their services. Our energy management portal has been attested for security, redundancy, and best practice compliance.

Strengths

Customers find value in our competitive advantages: our size, our people, and the technology we own. Because we’re a small firm, we can offer similar services that large companies do – but at a fraction of the cost. As a part of being small, it means that we rely on close customer relationships and pride ourselves on integrity and customer service. We communicate with our clients and with each other. Our customer-focused process allows our talented and diverse staff to weigh-in with fresh ideas around current events impacting the company. Finally, THG developed its Energy Management portal and automated demand response technologies from the ground up, allowing us to integrate reports and techniques based on our years of experience with analyzing data. Owning and developing our technology means we can quickly create custom solutions for each client vs. a one-size-fits-all approach that might be found in products from bigger companies.

Weaknesses

Getting your data right is hard. The Smart Grid is still a concept. If the utility doesn’t support access to electronic data (and most of them don’t), we work with our clients to obtain their data manually. This process can take some time, especially if there are a large number of facilities in play spanning a large geographic area.
